New energy connectors are separable electrical connection devices used for transmitting various forms of content, including signals, data, and power. They enable connections between different systems within a device, such as between different circuit boards, and also facilitate connections between different devices. Without connectors, many devices in our lives would find it challenging to operate independently. In the field of new energy vehicles, connectors play a crucial role. With the development of new energy vehicles, particularly the popularization of electric vehicles, a large number of connectors are needed to support their high voltage and current platforms. These connectors are used not only for the internal electrical system connections within the vehicles but also for quick connections with charging facilities to achieve efficient energy replenishment.
Compared to traditional high-voltage, high-current, and low-voltage automotive connectors, new energy vehicle connectors face more complex and variable operating conditions, and therefore require higher reliability. The increased voltage levels (currently, mainstream systems have voltages exceeding 300V DC) have heightened the risk of electric shock injuries, thus demanding higher safety standards for connectors. Additionally, the application background of new energy vehicle connectors is under the development trend of automotive electrification and intelligence, where high-voltage power batteries and related systems are replacing traditional engines and systems as the power source for the entire vehicle. In terms of data transmission, applications such as video and image transmission, which have high real-time transmission requirements, pose challenges to traditional communication technologies, prompting connectors to expand from traditional low-voltage, low-frequency applications to high-voltage, high-frequency applications.
