A connector, also known as a connection insert, is a component that connects two electronic devices or circuits. In electronics, connectors are often used to transmit electrical current or signals. In particular, wafer connectors are a special type of connector that is commonly used in electronic assembly, especially on printed circuit boards (PCBs). These connectors consist of a series of tightly packed sheets (or "wafers"), each containing a row of contacts or pins. This design allows them to provide multiple connection points in a smaller space, making them very common in high-density electronics.

Wafer connectors generally refer to connector base (chip holder) connectors, which are usually assembled from metal parts and plastic parts. Unlike hoses, which only have plastic parts (some have iron shells), it is assembled from wires and terminals. The wafer socket connector is composed of a fixed-end electrical connector, that is, a female contactor (referred to as a socket), and a free-end electrical connector, that is, a male contactor (referred to as a plug). The socket is fixed to the electrical parts by its square (round) disc (some are also welded). The plug is usually connected to the cable, and the plug and socket are connected by a connection nut. Its role is to block the circuit or isolate the circuit flow.
