A Connector is an assembly that connects two or more electronic components to realize circuit connection. They are very important in various applications, including electronic equipment, computers, communication equipment, automobiles and industrial machinery. According to the different characteristics and application fields of connectors, they can be classified as follows:

Classification by interface type:

D-Sub connector: used for computer interface.

USB connector: used for general serial bus, widely used in computers, mobile devices, etc.

HDMI connector: used for high-definition video transmission.

RJ45 connector: used for network connection, such as Ethernet.

Audio/video connectors: such as RCAA and XLR, used for audio/video equipment.

Classification by application field:

Data communication connector: used for computers, servers, network devices, etc.

Power connector: used for power supply, such as power adapter and power distribution unit.

Radio frequency connector: used for wireless communication equipment, such as antenna connection.

Automobile connector: used in automobile electrical system, such as engine control unit.

Industrial connectors: used in industrial control and automation systems.

Classification by installation method:

Board-to-board connector: used to connect circuit boards.

Wire-to-board connector: used to connect wires and circuit boards.

Line-to-line connector: used to connect two wires.

Classification by performance:

High-frequency connector: used for high-speed data transmission, such as 5g communication.

High current connector: used for high current transmission, often used in industrial and power applications.

Waterproof connector: used in outdoor or humid environment, with good sealing performance.

Different types of connectors have different electrical and physical characteristics according to their design and application fields, such as durability, current/voltage tolerance, size, connection/disconnection mode, etc. Correct selection and use of connectors is very important to ensure the reliability and performance of the whole system.
